Precision manufacturing Engineering is the discipline that aims to create extremely accurate and complex components from designs. It’s essentially crafting parts with tight tolerances, meaning minimal room for error in size, shape, and functionality. This is achieved through advanced software, techniques and machinery, making it crucial for industries that demand exceptional quality and performance in their end products.

The Department of Precision Manufacturing Engineering was established in 2024 with an aim to provide specific technical skills to studentsin order to cope with the ever changing industrial demands. The Department places heavy emphasis on delivering industry oriented skill education to the students which includes operating various non conventional and CNC machines by using latest software and technology in the field of precision manufacturing. The Department has well equipped labs and experienced team of faculty trained in different fields of Precision Manufacturing Engineering, who are committed to provide quality education.

VISION

To strive in producing precision manufacturing diploma engineers with excellent technical skill and professional ethics in order to cope with the ever changing industrial demands and social needs.

MISSION

  1. To deliver industry oriented skill education to the students.
  2. To impart practical training to existing workforce for upskilling in their respective domain.
  3. To develop humane, socio-ethical values and entrepreneurship qualities among precision manufacturing students.

Program Educational Objective

Our diploma holders in precision manufacturing will be able to:

  1. Identify, analyze and solve technical problems during production through the application of science and engineering principles.
  2. Acquire specific skills to operate various conventional, non conventional and CNC machines by using latest software and technology in the field of precision manufacturing.
  3. To achieve employment in broad range of industries and invoke the desire for higher education.
  4. To adopt ethical attitude and exhibit effective skills in communication, teamwork and leadership qualities.

DEPARTMENT OF PRECISION MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING (POs)- Diploma

PO1.Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.

PO2.Problem analysis: Identify and analyse well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.

PO3.Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.

PO4.Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modem engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.

PO5.Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.

PO6.Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.
